Designed for both first-time and seasoned parents, this interactive class will boost your confidence and support you on your journey. Embrace the arrival of your little one with us!

We encourage you to register for our upcoming class sessions, starting at least two months before your due date. The total cost for 6 weeks of classes is $300
Childbirth Class Week by Week
Week 1
Exercise & Nutrition
In our first class, we’ll cover the essential elements of a healthy pregnancy. Participants will learn safe prenatal exercises to enhance strength and flexibility, as well as effective techniques to relieve common discomforts. We’ll also delve into vital nutrition guidelines to support both mother and baby, highlighting key nutrients and recommended supplements for optimal health.
Week 2
Labor & Birth
In our second class, we’ll delve into the stages of labor, providing a clear understanding of what to expect as you approach childbirth. Participants will learn about the three main stages: early labor, active labor, and delivery, along with key signs and coping strategies for each phase. We’ll discuss pain management options, the role of support partners, and how to create a birth plan.
Week 3
Coping Mechanisms
In our third class, we’ll focus on effective coping techniques for labor. Participants will explore a variety of pain management strategies, including breathing exercises, visualization, and movement. We’ll discuss the importance of support from partners and caregivers, as well as techniques for relaxation and mindfulness. This session will empower expectant parents with practical tools to navigate labor confidently and comfortably.
Week 4
Breastfeeding
In our fourth class, we’ll explore breastfeeding in depth, focusing on essential techniques for success such as achieving a proper latch, recognizing signs of a good feeding, debunking common myths, and addressing typical challenges. You’ll benefit from a supportive environment where you can ask questions and connect with others, empowering you on your breastfeeding journey!
Week 5
Postpartum & Newborn Care
In our fifth class, we’ll explore postpartum recovery from childbirth, focusing on the first six weeks and essential newborn care. Participants will learn skills like diapering, bathing, and recognizing cues to nurture and bond with their baby. We’ll also discuss physical and emotional changes, self-care strategies, and support during this transition, as well as common challenges like healing, breastfeeding, and adjusting to life with a newborn.
Week 6
Birth Interventions
In our sixth class, we’ll examine common birth interventions and their purposes. Participants will learn about medical options such as epidurals, inductions, and cesarean sections, along with their benefits and potential risks. We’ll discuss when these interventions may be necessary and how to communicate effectively with your healthcare team. This session will empower expectant parents with knowledge to make informed choices during labor and delivery
Meet your instructor
Kessy Lumpkin is a dedicated mother of five and a self-proclaimed birth nerd, passionate about the journey of motherhood and the art of gentle birthing. Her unique experiences as a former military wife have given her the opportunity to birth with four different midwives, each contributing invaluable wisdom that has shaped her understanding of the birth process. Through these diverse experiences, Kessy has developed a deep passion for empowering women with the knowledge and tools necessary for a gentle and natural birth.
She firmly believes that God designed the female body to instinctively know how to give birth. Kessy emphasizes that when women approach the birthing experience without fear and trust their bodies’ cues, a beautiful synergy often occurs between mother and baby, leading to a harmonious and successful delivery.
With a heart for new parents, Kessy finds immense joy in guiding and encouraging them on their journey to parenthood. She offers support, resources, and a listening ear, fostering a community where expectant and new parents feel informed, empowered, and confident as they navigate this transformative stage of life. Kessy’s mission is to ensure that every woman feels equipped and celebrated in her birth experience, helping to create a nurturing environment for both mothers and their little ones
